The Kohuana were a sedentary hunter/farmer tribe. They lived on the east side of the Colorado and below the Gila when met by Garcés. They were closely connected to the Halykwami and enemies of the Cocopa. Conflicts with other Yumans forced them to relocate often, and ultimately, to join the Maricopa in Arizona.

1781 Several killed by the Yuma, so most merged with the Maricopa
